Srinagar, Sep 24 (KNO): MLA Tral Rafiq Naik on Thursday said the government’s decision to provide six free LPG cylinders to Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) families should be welcomed, but maintained that dispensation led by CM Omar Abdullah must honour its electoral promise of providing 12 free cylinders.
Representing Tral, Naik while speaking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said the provision of six free cylinders would provide relief to AAY families and should not be rejected.
“Six free LPG cylinders are a blessing, but they should be given on the ground and not remain only on papers,” Naik said.
He, however, pointed out that the government had promised 12 free LPG cylinders to every household during the elections.
“The government should have made its promise and given 12 cylinders,” he said.
His remarks came after the government approved the provision of six free LPG cylinders for AAY families, restricting the count as promised during the election campaign—(KNO)
